3rd Annual Mac 'n' Cheese Bowl Saturday Feb. 18th 11:AM
We invite you to join us for the 3rd Annual Mac & Cheese Bowl to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York to be held at the Albany Marriott on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Tickets are available at all Price Chopper registers. Adults $15, Children (5-12) $5, Children under 5 are free! It is a fun family event that last year raised thousands of dollars for the Regional Food Bank. Why a Gluten Free menu in a restaurant with ‘wheat’ in its name? In 2005, when a regular guest ceased dining at Wheatfields, owners Tim and Colleen Holmes inquired as to her absence. She stated how her love of Wheatfields continued but that she needed to maintain a Gluten Free diet. That is when owners Tim and Colleen Holmes began the Gluten Free menu at Wheatfields Restaurant and Bar in Saratoga. Because Wheatfields cooks to order their menu items, it was not problematic to cook Gluten Free. Educating themselves and their staff was the first step and today it is a part of the culture at Wheatfields. Their favorite Gluten Free menu item is the pizza! “After months of searching for a pizza shell that I enjoyed eating, we finally found one! I have never eaten so many tasteless products before and was thrilled to find our current pizza shell”. And for the beer lover that is Gluten Free, the Holmeses added Redbridge to their beer list to pair with the exceptional pizza.
